Events this Term
- “Family & Life” (organisation based in Dublin) gave a presentation to Fifth Year students on January 23rd on the true beauty of human sexuality and the development of human life.
- Wednesday February 25th Ash Wednesday: Blessing & Distribution of Ashes to staff and students.
- As part of the “Mallow Community Health Week”, Fifth Year students attended workshops hosted by Cloyne Diocesan Youth Service at Mallow Youth Centre onMarch 9th . The workshops focused on positive mental health, and Transition Year students attended a workshop on addictions hosted by Anchor, Spa Glen, Mallow.
- “YANA” (You Are Not Alone) gave a presentation on April 23rd to Transition Year students on domestic abuse, focusing on the development of positive relationships and being able to recognise abusive relationships in the home, school or the workplace.
- On Thursday April 23rd, Fr. Brendan attended a “Grief Counselling Course” at Cork Education Centre.
- “Davis College Positive Mental Health Week”- May 5th- 8th. First, Second and Third Year students attended workshops on bullying, addictions and body image presented by Humour Fit Theatre. Fifth Year students attended a ‘Positive Mental Health, Depression and Suicide Prevention Programme’ presented by two counsellors from the National Suicide Research Foundation (NSRF) based in Cork. Transition Year students on May 8th participated in a one-day workshop on mental health issues presented by t
he Cork Mental Health Association.
- On May 12th First Year students took part in ‘MeditationWalk’ along the Kerry Way from Kenmare to Killarney.
- The Leaving Certificate Graduation Mass took place on Thursday May 21st. We bid farewell to our Sixth year students and wish themevery success in their examinations and in their futures.
- On May 22nd First Years attended a ‘Drug and Substance Abuse’ prevention talk given by members of the Gardaí.
- Fr.Brendan, the School Chaplain has begun first year home visits and will continue to mid-June. This is to offer support and to review progress of your son/daughter.
