We would like to tell you a little bit about Young Social Innovators.(YSI).

Young Social Innovators (YSI) invites young people between the ages of 15 and 18 to work together to make radical, innovative suggestions and actions for change that can make a real difference to peoples lives, including their own.
After a lot of brain storming and interesting debates we have chosen Ageism as out YSI project. We have spent the past few weeks researching young peoples’ attitudes towards the elderly and visa versa. This was done by distributing questionnaires to our local Primary and Secondary schools and to a few Nursing homes in the Mallow area. We are currently analysing these surveys so keep in touch for further updates on where are project is heading

What we’ve done so far
We have distributed the surveys to the local primary schools to find out their views of their grandparents and elderly people. We have gathered the surveys and are in the process of analysing the results. We have also distributed surveys to the Patrician Academy, St. Mary’s convent, and our school, Davis College.
