Random Act of Kindness Week 23rd -27th November
Davis College is running a ‘Random Act of Kindness’ week from Nov. 23rd -27th. Inspired by a news story on RTE last week which told the story of young Cork Girl, Beibhinn Hope O'Connor who sadly passed away earlier this year, the school initiated the event. Students and staff have been made aware of Beibhinn’s story and are undertaking random acts of kindness over the week culminating in a non-uniform day on Friday 27th with all proceeds being donated to the Make A Wish Foundation.
The initiative has been supported by the Parent Association and Student Council and prominent student council members, Baroime Fullah and Anthony Castillo have been instrumental in creating awareness of the project. This has been a very positive initiative across the school in what is a difficult time for everyone in the country. Such has been the positive feedback from the event that it is set to be a permanent feature of the school calendar going forward. It is an event inspired by Beibhinn’s story and one which will always be associated with her in the school.
Barromie Fullah and Anthony Castillo both members of the Student Council who worked over the course of the week to promote our ‘Random Act of Kindness’ week.
As part of our Random Act of Kindness week, the Student Council and Transition Year students made a presentation to the cleaning and secretarial staff in recognition of the invaluable work they do in the background in keeping the school operating on a day to day basis.
