Gaelcholáiste Dáibhís
The Gaelcholáiste in Davis College has changed to meet demand. In the beginning all subjects were taught through Irish but from listening to parents and discussing different options with them it became apparent that this was not the prefered option. So we have responded to this feedback and changed our Gaelcholáiste model and this has proved to be hugely successful.
Students in our Gaelcholáiste now study all their non exam subjects through Irish. Exam subjects are taught through English. This has the added advantage that Gaelcholaiste students get the opportunity to mix with all other students in their year group while at the same time operating through Irish for approximately 30% of the week. This has also opened up the Gaelcholáiste to students from non Gaelscoil backgrounds and we have many students in our Gaelcholáiste who came from English speaking primary school.
Gaelcholáiste students have exactly the same subject choices as all students attending Davis College.
