Sports
Davis College has an excellent tradition in the area of sports. Firstly, we offer a huge variety of sporting activities including football, hurling, soccer, basketball, volleyball, rugby camogie, ladies football, Athletics etc. We have been Senior County Hurling Champions in 2017 and 2018 narrowly missing out on a three in a row in 2019. We have also been All Ireland Spikeball champions and competed in All Ireland Volleyball finals in 2018. Former Cork Footballer Colm O'Neill is a past pupil as is current player Mattie Taylor. Current captain of the Glen Senior Hurling team, Brian Moylan is also on staff. In addition, we have a Taekwondo world champion on staff and she teaches self defence classes in Transition Year. Another of our staff offers martial arts fitness classes after school. The school is also represented at Equestrian events by students who are interested in being involved. Overall, we have something for everyone in the school and sports are open to all to participate.
Sports in the school are complemented by the excellent facilities on site which include a full size hall and a gym, hard court areas and a new dance/exercise room.
