The Professional Development Service for Teachers (PDST) in association with the Irish Economics Association (IEA), University College Dublin, NUI Galway, Maynooth University organise this prestigious competition and Davis College is represented each year by members of the Transition Year Economics class. It is is a competition in which we have had great success over the years. In 2019 we secured two gold medals as well as silver and a Bronze medal. Lilian Anorou was placed 2nd overall in Ireland in the Transition Year category for her project on Fast Fashion and it's economic implications. She was pipped to the post by Glenstal Abbey.
Eoin Healy won the 'Sustainable Development Goals Award' outright, placed 1st, for his project which analysed the economic impact of Climate Change. Donnacha Wallace and Ana Koehler were awarded Silver medals for their projects entitled, "Does positivity positively affect economic productivity' and 'an economic analysis of climate change' respectively.Raquel Garcia and Emily O' Sullivan brought home bronze with their projects 'The K-Pop Economy' and 'The Economic Consequences of the Bombing of Nagasaki'.

In 2018 two students were awarded Bronze medals and three students received Silver medals.

Daniel O' Herlihy was also awarded a gold medal for his entry "The Demand for Corruption in Organisations Around the World".
Clara Vidal's entry 'The Economic Impact of the Syrian War' was placed third overall in the Transition Year category.
